This week’s Lady Dynamique, Immaculate Dera Oparaocha, is a thorough feminine and one who transformation has met via marriage and travel. She believes so much in change, a phenomenon capable of positively affecting those who swim with its tide. The otherwise, being left behind to wallow in the Debris. Life is Good, at least from her now comfortable perspective but could still be better. Explore her thoughts!
What is Your passion, Does it have anything to do with your Feminity?
Growing up in the midst of seven girls, I have always wanted to be recognized, to be in authority, I had a strict father whose basic ideology is religion and Education, so I excelled.
I am happy for that. Although I wasn’t allowed to experience basics like wearing trousers. I heard different versions of what I’m supposed to do to be an ideal wife but I also got the encouragement to pursue my dreams. Its also the compliments on my brilliance and bright future that boosts my ego to this day(God bless my parents). I had a constant supply of books and novels, I love reading and traveling I love change and new experiences and I hope to keep studying as long as I can and go wherever the wind takes me.
What would be the most amazing Adventure to Explore?
It would be amazing to visit the land of my fantasies, a land where I am free and as wild as I can be with no inhibitions. It constantly evolves so I wouldn’t know how to describe it. Back to reality, I would like to go on an adventure to an island, living on a beach house with my loved one where the nearest neighbor will be a few miles away and the only sound will be that of the ocean. Hearing it slap against the land and the night sky littered with stars, perfect bliss, there should be a helicopter though, for emergency.
What’s your favourite Day of the Year and why?
My favorite days of the year is the day I’m perfectly happy. Waking up on the right side of the bed and having things go as planned. It is also the day I feel all loved up and cuddled with enough good deeds for the day.

Have you Heard worst things about You? How did that affect You?
The worst thing anyone can ever do is see me as a dummy. I can live with anything but never to be under valued. Call me a bitch, say I’m a whore but never ever say I’m a dullard. I will probably [figuratively] poison the person. Frankly I don’t care if I’m misunderstood or If I don’t fit in but please respect class.
What are the interesting things about you?
My ability to detach from negativity. Most things get over my head because I don’t probably feel the way you’d expect when you throw the jab. I am not people savvy and I don’t function in toxicity so I leave.
I don’t envy I might be jealous but I will never covet and I might desire your life or what you have but will never hate you for it or do you dirty.
I also love to be loved. You are the center of my universe, if I am your all and all.
How Different was Your life a Year Ago?
A little over a year ago I was overweight, living illegally cos of Covid, trying to figure out how to be a mom and missing home.
Now, I am not so overweight, I’m a permanent resident, own my apartment, riding shotgun, making life better for family back home. I still miss home and totally “killing” it at this motherhood game and on the way to better opportunities and more travel and riches.
Given 40minutes with Absolutely no Preparation to make a Speech Presentation, What Issue would that be?
I can probably give a hundred reasons why females are the center of God’s creation, give 20 reasons why the concept “men are polygamous in nature” is a lie, 15 reasons why toxic marriage culture and male dominance and selfishness is the reason for Nigerian’s underdevelopment.
Talk about Your struggles as a Woman!
My struggles as a woman was worse while i still lived in Nigeria. I was frustrated, afraid of the future, the environment was toxic I couldn’t fit in anywhere and I was slowly withering from the weight of unrealized dreams. Now, I’m living my fantasy in an entirely different continent. I also worry about the amount of prejudice in social media against women. What’s really going on?
What Beliefs About Women Do You Consider A Hoax?
- •Women are not meant to be subjugated.
- •Women are not the weaker sex
- •Women are not meant to tolerate the excesses of the male gender.
- •A fulfilled woman is not a woman living under a man.
The above beliefs are drawing us back and we can never move forward until everyone is treated fairly and allowed to breath.
What Does Freedom Mean to You?
Freedom is living without fear, fear of the unknown, fear of what people will say, fear of poverty, fear of insecurity, fear of prejudice, fear of criticism freedom is to live in bliss, unbridled happiness that is freedom for me
How has your Strengths helped you Conquer certain Stereotypes about being Human?
I am a black woman, a Christian, a wife and mother. Each of these come with different stereotypes associated with it. If I’m not being judged on my color then it is my beliefs or I am not living as a wife should or I’m being told how to raise my son. It’s a constant struggle! But, I do love my ability to tune it all out and, detach, mind my business, do my good deed for the day, love my God.
Sincerely, doing to others as I would like them to do onto me, taking it one at a time and making the world a better place just by being me, are my strengths.
What’s in your future for WOMANITY?
I believe in change, it is surely coming, you either swim with the tide or you get left behind with the debris. The future for the African woman is looking up already as more women are beginning to take pride in themselves as humans created in the image of God given the very gifts to be everything they can be. I sincerely hope that the girl child realizes as early as possible that she lives just to make a meaningful contribution to society and not for the fact she will be an ideal wife one day.
Life is Dynamique, Yeah! What makes yours Unique?
Truthfully, each of us have our individual strengths and weaknesses. We are all fighting our different demons and hiding our various skeletons, masking our pains and moving on. In all these abilities, we still make out time for each other, to have friends, build relationships and coexist makes us powerful.
I am unique because I empathize. Love makes me unique, it gives my life meaning. I am nothing without the people in my life and I will certainly be dead without the love of God. The love that surrounds me makes me unique. I live my life and count my blessings and bask in the love and light of God, my husband, my son, my family and my friends.
