This September, in Nigeria, there has been a reoccurring trend on the issue of leaked audios and it gives rise to privacy concerns. Truthfully, there should be some media ethics for releasing voice recordings. There has to be some laid down principles to regulate the rate at which unendorsed information comes out in the media.
Technology is awesome, no doubt, but for some silly reasons and clout chasing strategies, it is causing more harm than good especially to those oblivious of the extent of harm being done while these digital systems are in use. The worst people in these category are those who release their voices by themselves, all in a bid to be in the spotlights. How low can one get? This deliberate foolery is no highlight for this article anyway.
On a neutral note, recording a person’s voice should definitely be with a person’s permission! I’m so thankful for the zoom app! It notifies the other party of a recording, to keep you aware of your speech and actions while on the call. Even though a person’s disposition may not be totally tamed because of a mere recording, there would be at least a censoring to the individual’s demeanor throughout the call.
Just these few days, people considered to be amongst the “high and mighty” in the Nigerian society have taken it upon themselves, to entertain the public with a showcase of their private issues. It’s quite unfortunate. Not just because of the people involved but because of the obviously avoidable happenstances.
It is true that trust has become an issue in today’s society. This explains the reason people tend to document every single dealing, so as to have an evidence to such engagement, incase things turn sour. To an extent, keeping record is cool especially if your life or integrity may be at stake but to spite a person, is a 💯 NO!

I know for sure that there are laws in place, to deal with people who engage in illegal release of other people’s private information for many reasons including blackmail and ridicule. However, the law seems to be “a long drive from the city”. Something has to be done!
This current trend, among celebrities, calls for a great amount of carefulness, to scrutinize the people who come close to you; especially at most vulnerable moments.
Guaranteed, You may not be too careful with humans! However, if as an individual, you like your privacy kept private, then there should be no need to engage a clique action around its keeping.

Also, work on the choices you make regards whom to confide in and who to love. As a clue, nothing beats the virtue of compassion and empathy in any human association.
The truth is, many people, not minding their class in the society would stoop really low to prove a point. This confirms that fact that positive human values go beyond finance and its acquisitions.
Something to ponder on!
You may have money and class. The question is: do you have sense? Do you have the decency of moving on from a situation without creating negative highlights?
That said, digital authorities should come up with an idea. Something that could indicate good intentions and bad intentions. Facebook is doing a great job with censoring certain contents. But these Technologies should do better. This has gone beyond just instincts.
