This moment in Nigeria has been so yearned for. This is the time when intimidation packed it’s bags and said ‘bye’ to the people’s voice. This time, laced with youthful confidence, thorough reflection and of course the true independence. Independence from the slavery of subjugation, freedom from the circular Modus operandi that tends to favour only those in power but not the masses. ‘A whole Masses!’ The ones that hold the key to democracy. What an flick irony! They made a mess of our dear democracy with their selfish ambitions, inconsistencies, irrational decisions and continuous embezzlement. Not forgetting the inhumane actions of the armed men of the armed forces, the judicial skims of the human rights, total overhauling of the system to the custom reforms that ONLY they profit from.
We’ve always known that a lot of things were not right but the unity to speak up was lacking. It’s a good thing that we’ve woken up just at the verge of nationwide economic, social and political destruction but it’s truly saddening to realise that we’ve been played all these while. They deceived us. They said we are the Future leaders of the nation. But the then “future leaders” are now grey in wait because it was a mirage. Thankfully, now, the present “future leaders” have seen and read clearly the handwriting on the wall and understand the plans of the leaders that should be on retirement and the direction of the political instabilities ravaging the economy of the nation and are bittered by the situation and have taken the bull by the horns; daring, confident, hopeful that their voice will be heard, which is actually being heard! Our voices are being heard even beyond the shores of this nation. What a feat!.😁😁 Now, we are able to speak up without fear nor fall because there is UNITY in this Voice of Reason.
The current voice being #reformation. Howbeit, in retrospect, this is the Vision that was seen concerning the year 2020 and termed VISION 2020. Some people in this clime already gave up on this year. I read some already prophesying themselves into the next year without hopes for the remaining months of the year since the invasion of Covid-19; A virus that changed our lives and patterns, our speech and dress style, our relations in the open world.
But here we are, in this age, at this time demanding accountability, seeking total reformation and expecting a positive change in the Government, like we never have in the history of the nation. It’s surreal; the feeling!
Nevertheless, this CHANGE stands as the REAL CHANGE. The ‘phone-pressing’ generation are now on it, positively creating an impact. All thanks to Technology 😊.
